What cc_amount_rate_limit_exceeded means in Mercado Pago
Payment status: rejected
Short answer
The payment was rejected because it exceeded the payment method's limit, called CAP (Capacidad Máxima Permitida, the maximum allowed capacity).
If you are the buyer
Pay with another payment method.
If you are the seller
Offer another payment method. The documentation does not say how to raise the limit.
If you are the developer
General engineering advice (not from Mercado Pago's documentation): Repeating the same payment will probably be rejected again. Send the buyer back to the payment method selection.
Source
The meaning comes from the Mercado Pago developer documentation, verified on 2026-11-04. Buyer and seller steps follow from it; developer notes are general engineering practice, not Mercado Pago documentation.
