Read this before you rely on a number

Rates as of 2026-11-05; verify them at the source, which every row links. The figures do not include local taxes (IVA, IIBB and similar) unless a row says so, and the tool does not compute taxes. We only list a provider and country when its official page gives a clear rate.

Polar charges in US dollars, so its rows use their own amount in USD. Nothing is converted from the local currency.

About these fees

What does the LATAM payment fee calculator do?+
You enter a sale amount and pick a country. For each provider that publishes a rate for sellers there, it shows the fee and what you receive, using the rates copied from the provider’s own pricing page on 2026-11-05. It runs in your browser and sends nothing.
Where do the rates come from?+
Every row links the official pricing page it was copied from: Mercado Pago, Stripe, PayPal or Polar, for that country. We do not use third-party articles, and we left out any provider and country whose page was missing, ambiguous or contradicting itself.
Do the fees include taxes?+
No, and the tool does not compute taxes. Mercado Pago’s pages state IVA on top of most rates, Stripe’s Mexico page says all fees exclude IVA, PayPal’s Mexico page says its amounts are subject to IVA, and Mercado Pago Argentina adds that costs vary with provincial taxes. Each row carries the note its source gives.
Why does Mercado Pago have several rates for one country?+
Mercado Pago prices the money-release term: the faster you want the money, the higher the percentage. In Argentina, Checkout runs from 6.29% + IVA with instant release to 1.49% + IVA at 35 days. The calculator shows each term as its own row so you can see which one a number assumes.
Why are some providers missing in some countries?+
Only combinations with an official, unambiguous price are listed. We found no Stripe pricing page for Argentina, Chile or Colombia, PayPal’s page for those countries is a regional table we could not map to one local rate, and Brazil is not in Polar’s list of payout countries.
Why does Polar show dollars and a higher percentage?+
Polar is a merchant of record and charges in USD: 5% + USD 0.50 on its Starter plan, plus 1.5% on non-US cards, which is 6.5% + USD 0.50 for most LATAM buyers. It takes on the liability for international sales taxes. What you receive also loses Stripe’s payout fees: USD 2 per month of active payouts, 0.25% + USD 0.25 per payout, and 1% currency conversion outside the EU (source: https://polar.sh/docs/merchant-of-record/fees). Its paid plans lower the rate for a monthly fee; see Polar’s page.
